What Checks Should You Be Making On The Morning Of Your Wedding?

Many brides spend months or even years planning their perfect wedding day.

It’s stressful and requires extraordinary organization skills. But after all that hard work, you can wake up on the morning of your big day in a huge panic. You feel like reaching for the phone and calling everyone. Have they remembered what day it is? Are they in position? Have they set everything up? Are they even awake at five in the morning?

Today is your wedding day. That means that it’s time to sit back and enjoy everything that happens today. Leave the last minute preparations and checks to your wedding planner, maid of honor, or anyone you can find to deal with it. This morning is about relaxing and being pampered. You’ll have your hair and makeup done. You’ll be zipped into your dress. You may even enjoy a glass of champagne. Then someone from your wedding party will tell you it’s time to leave for the ceremony.

If you want to keep a hold of the reins of the wedding planning, why not make a list of the things your second-in-command needs to keep an eye on? They might check that the guys bring the marquees have access to the premises to erect them. Maybe they can knock on the groom’s door to check he’s up and ready for the day? Perhaps they can take delivery of the flowers and help to set them up at the venue?

The wedding rings will need to be handed over to the ring bearer. That might be the Best Man. And the caterers may need to know where they can plug in their equipment. Perhaps they could liaise with the cake people so they can work together on the presentation of the buffet? Have the musicians found their way to the venue? And has the check been signed to pay for them? None of these concerns should be on your mind but in the reliable hands of someone else today.

The only checks you should be making personally is that of your appearance. As the stylist works with your hair, ask her questions about dismantling it all again tonight. Are you happy with the look of it? Does your tiara feel secure? You might be doing your own makeup or you may have someone to do it for you. Ask to see a photo of it. What may look heavy in the mirror could be just perfect for the wedding photos.

You might want to check any messages from well-wishers on the morning. Those that can’t make it might be added to the list of apologies that the Best Man may read out. Finally, check your dress is done up and placed well. Now you can sit back and relax. Let everyone else take care of your special day.

After months of hard work and planning, it can be difficult to stop rushing around and getting ready. But all that work has been for you to enjoy this one incredible day. So stop worrying and enjoy it! Relax, be pampered and let someone else take care of things.
